1. About The Mind Project

The Mind Project is a dedicated mental health content platform operated by Deep Light Media Limited. It publishes evidence-based articles, condition guides, medication information, Therapist's Notes, lived-experience narratives, photo essays, and community content relating to mental health. The Mind Project is an editorial and information platform — it does not provide therapy, counselling, diagnosis, or medical advice.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using themindproject.africa, you agree to be bound by these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy. These Terms incorporate the dignity and non-discrimination standards of the Kenya Mental Health Act 2022 (ss.4, 35) and the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or submit content. Parents and guardians may access the platform on behalf of minors for educational purposes. The Mind Project recognises that its users include persons living with mental illness, trauma survivors, caregivers, and mental health professionals — all are welcome and all are entitled to equal dignity and respect.

► Our dignity commitment

Consistent with the Kenya Mental Health Act 2022 and the Ubuntu philosophy, The Mind Project treats every user as a full person — never defined by a diagnosis, history, or condition. The platform actively counters the systemic mental health stigma documented in Kenya's legislative and cultural landscape.

6. Contributor Terms

Contributors submitting articles, Therapist's Notes, lived-experience narratives, or photographic content must: (i) hold any professional qualifications they represent; (ii) obtain written consent from any identifiable person featured; (iii) comply with WHO Safe Messaging Guidelines; and (iv) execute a Contributor Agreement before publication. Contributors sharing lived-experience mental health narratives are entitled to the Group's Trauma-Informed Consent Protocol, including a 72-hour cooling-off period and access to a designated wellbeing contact.

7. Intellectual Property

All editorial content produced by The Mind Project is the intellectual property of Deep Light Media Limited. Contributors retain copyright in their own submissions but grant The Mind Project a non-exclusive licence to publish, reproduce, and distribute their content. See our Intellectual Property and Copyright Notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Mind Project provides information and personal narratives for educational and awareness purposes only. Deep Light Media Limited is not liable for any decisions made in reliance on platform content. The platform expressly does not provide medical advice. Users are encouraged to consult qualified mental health professionals for personal clinical guidance. This limitation does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Kenyan law.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes shall be referred first to mediation under the NCIA Mediation Rules, and if unresolved, to binding arbitration under the NCIA Arbitration Rules 2015, enforceable under the New York Convention 1958.
